Delete Your Account

This page explains how to delete your African Language House account and the personal data associated with it. It applies to the African Language House app for iOS and Android (com.theafricanlanguagehouse.app) and to the web app at app.theafricanlanguagehouse.com, published by African Language House LLC.
Delete your account in the app
The quickest way is from inside the app. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
- Open the app and sign in.
- Go to Profile.
- Open Settings, then Account settings.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Your account is removed right away and you are signed out on every device.
Request deletion without the app
If you no longer have access to the app, or prefer not to sign in, send us a deletion request with the form below. We will verify that you own the email address, delete the account, and confirm by email. Requests are completed within 30 days.
You can also email us directly at support@theafricanlanguagehouse.com from the address your account is registered to.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- your account and sign-in details (email address, password, Google or Apple sign-in link)
- your name and profile picture
- your learning progress: courses, lessons, activities, points, streaks and achievements
- your saved vocabulary, custom decks and quiz results
- your support messages and reports
- your push notification subscription
What is kept, and for how long
- Records of purchases made through the App Store, Google Play or Stripe stay with those providers under their own policies. We keep only the minimal record needed to honour refunds and to comply with tax and accounting law.
- Copies of deleted data may remain in our automated database backups for up to 7 days, after which they are removed.
- We keep no other personal data after deletion.
